Nominated Member of the National Assembly Sabina Chege has said she has done nothing wrong to warrant her removal as deputy Minority Whip.
Speaking during the National Prayer Breakfast, Chege said the only thing she did was to choose Kenya and join the government to work together.
"Even as they are planning on removing me as a deputy Minority Whip, I hope the Speaker will not look at me with a better eye," she said.
Chege said she hopes the country will rise, and no one will wait to see Kenya go down.
"We handed over power, we must work with the government of the day, not for ourselves but for the betterment of Kenya. I have also reconciled with myself," she said.
Azimio La Umoja Coalition had on May 30 replaced Sabina with Embakasi West MP Mark Mwenje.
This is after Speaker Moses Wetang’ula declined Azimio’s request to remove Sabina.
The Speaker instead gave the minority 30 days to put their house in order and report back to his office.
Wetang’ula faulted Minority for failing to satisfy the requirement of the Standing Order in seeking to replace Chege.
Sabina was kicked out because of her shift in loyalty to President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza government.
Chege said she is not worried about her removal, and that she is confident that she will be able to continue serving the people of Kenya in other ways.
"I am not worried about my removal. I am confident that I will be able to continue serving the people of Kenya in other ways," she said.
Chege said she is committed to working for the betterment of Kenya, and that she will continue to do so regardless of her position.
