Recent revelations shed light on the homicide of Margaret Mbitu, a Kenyan national whose lifeless body was discovered inside a vehicle at Logan Airport in the United States.
According to a Massachusetts State Police report, Mbitu's remains were found inside her boyfriend's car, also a Kenyan citizen, who is now the prime suspect in this tragic case. The victim displayed visible knife wounds on her neck and face, with additional wounds found on her side near the chest area.
The grim discovery was made with the victim seated in the car's front seat, and the vehicle's interior bore traces of blood.
Surveillance footage from the airport recorded the white car's arrival on Tuesday, October 31, and its subsequent parking in the airport garage. This occurred a day after Mbitu was reported missing.
The prime suspect left the vehicle and proceeded to the terminal, where he boarded a flight bound for Kenya. It was noted that the Kenyan boyfriend had booked the flight to Kenya earlier that Tuesday morning before his airport visit.
Mbitu's lifeless body was found the following day, on November 1, at 6:30 p.m. by local police, and she was officially pronounced dead by Boston Emergency Medical Services at 7:30 p.m.
In response to this shocking discovery, U.S. law enforcement agencies have launched a manhunt for the 40-year-old suspect. Collaborative efforts between officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are underway to locate the suspect and facilitate his extradition to the United States.
Photographs of the prime suspect have been shared with the public to aid in his apprehension.
In the meantime, Mbitu's family has urged the authorities to expedite their investigations and bring the suspect to justice.
