In a dramatic twist to the murder case of LGBTQ activist Edwin Kiprotich Kiptoo, alias Chiloba, chilling details emerged in court regarding the behavior of the prime suspect following the heinous crime.

A massage service provider, testifying as a prosecution witness in an Eldoret court, recounted a startling interaction with the main suspect, Jackton Odhiambo, just 24 hours after the alleged offense occurred.

The witness, who opted to remain anonymous, revealed that Odhiambo utilized the deceased's mobile phone number to pay for massage services merely days after the murder.

According to her testimony before Magistrate Reuben Nyakundi, she was approached by a friend who had secured a client in need of massage and sexual services, subsequently providing her mobile phone number to the client, purportedly Odhiambo.

"On the morning of January 1, 2023, my friend informed me of a client who sought massage and sexual favors. Odhiambo, the accused, arrived in a taxi at my residence, and we proceeded to a nearby short-stay apartment," she recounted.

At the apartment, Odhiambo allegedly requested a massage, which she provided, followed by sexual favors, for which she was compensated Sh4,000 via the Mpesa line registered under the late Chiloba's name.

The witness, whose identity was concealed, testified in the case where Odhiambo stands accused of killing Chiloba, a fourth-year student at the University of Eldoret studying Apparel Fashion and Design.

The court learned that the incident occurred between December 31, 2022, and January 3, 2023, at Noble Breeze Apartments in the Chebisaas area of Moiben Sub County, Uasin Gishu County.

Chiloba's decomposed body was discovered in a metal box along Kipkenyo-Kaptinga road in Kapseret sub-county on January 3, 2023.

An autopsy conducted by government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor revealed that Chiloba died of asphyxiation.

As the case progresses, further hearings are scheduled to shed light on the disturbing circumstances surrounding Chiloba's tragic demise.
