NAROK, Kenya – President William Ruto spent part of Friday at his Kilgoris farm in Narok County, where he was photographed and filmed personally caring for livestock, including bottle-feeding a young calf.
Images and videos shared on the President's social media platforms showed Ruto dressed in a wide-brimmed hat, patterned shirt and jeans as he fed the calf with a milk bottle before carrying it across the farmyard. He was also seen inspecting his herd of reddish-brown cattle near modern livestock sheds.
The visit highlighted the President's continued interest in farming, an activity he has frequently described as both a personal passion and a key pillar of Kenya's economy.
Ruto has often spoken about the importance of investing in agriculture, encouraging farmers to embrace modern livestock management, improved breeds and value addition to increase productivity and household incomes.
The President has previously maintained that agriculture remains central to the Kenya Kwanza administration's economic transformation agenda, with government initiatives focusing on food security, reducing the cost of farm inputs, expanding irrigation and improving market access for farmers.
